2/14 Monday Morning

James has developed an infection in his blood. This is a very serious development. They are medicating with an anti-fungal. Since fungus likes to grow on man-made things... Early this morning the surgeon replaced all of his IV lines, the chest tubes, the ECMO blood tubes in his groins, and all the support equipment (ventilator and ECMO machines). There was some real risk in doing so, but even more risk in doing nothing. The switch has been done, and went better than expected. The infection will make it tougher on his body to fight the flu.

Please keep praying for James.

  2. Dave,

Jim and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Jim, I have always respected you as a man and a friend. From the 70's basketball games in your driveway to talking about guitars and rock at Kroger. Get well soon Jim.
