The surgery is finished and went well.
James is now off of the ECMO machine. This is significant.
During the procedure the doctor also performed a bronchoscopy and saw that his airways appeared clear.
He will be returned to his room shortly. On Thursday they will perform a tracheotomy.
James will remain on the ventilator and dialysis. He will be sedated. Hopefully his condition will continue to improve to allow them to slowly wake him over the next few days.
With you, we will hope and pray for continued improvement.
