It has been another good day for James.
Today a nurse from the Zanesville rehabilitation hospital came to OSU to do an evaluation to determine his suitability for their care. The referral was accepted and the paperwork is being done to get James moved and admitted in Zanesville. He could be moved as early as Friday, and if not, by Monday.
My parents and sister visited the rehab facility this afternoon and were impressed with what they saw.
At this point he has been weaned of all medication except for insulin, and is receiving nutrition through the line that goes directly into his stomach. He is also getting additional oxygen through his trach, but is slowly being weaned from this as well.
James will probably be having a bronchoscopy before he leaves OSU. There appear to be portions of his lungs that are collapsed, and need to be opened up. We should learn more about this shortly.
With James doing so well, I will most likely be posting an update once a day in the evening between 8 and 10pm.
Thank you for all of your support. It has been awesome.
